INTRODUCING THE APEVERSE
The Apeverse is an ever-expanding ecosystem of exciting adventures through an open approach to the convergence of NFTs, DeFi, and gaming. We are determined to provide our holders with both valuable utility and education to help them thrive in the NFT space as it evolves.
0xMutants is an Expansion Pack for the Apeverse. A standalone collection of unique and collectable Mutants that live on the Ethereum Blockchain. In the same way “expansion packs” introduce new characters and storylines in traditional tabletop gaming, 0xMutants have arrived to expand the Apeverse.
Each aspect of the ecosystem will change based on community actions. Anyone that holds a Apeverse NFT will be able to choose what will happen next. Everything between story, lands, economy, and much more will be dynamically affected by those decisions. We strive for cross-ecosystem connections which we will enable with our connected resources model:
Mutants (NFT | Players)
There will be a total of 8888 memberships and we will divide these into four chapters — each of these chapters is associated with a new character and thus expands the Apeverse. Honoring the ethos of the OG collection’s design philosophies and trait principles, 0xMutants are fully unique and diverse additions to the Apeverse.
Our goal is to honor the design philosophy of BAYC’s original Lead Artists Seneca, Thomas Dagley and Migs. All known members of the core design team that executed the vision from which BAYC was spawned.
There are no duplicates of the original MAYC/BAYC Assortment! Also we strive for the highest possible quality and therefore you will receive your mutant in 8K resolution.
We are a team of creators, authors, as well as developers and what unites us is that we love the entire BAYC ecosystem. This project is already a legend and reached an epic level of success. Being part of Bored Ape Yacht Club means you are in a club with the likes of professional athletes, musicians & actors. This means that the dream of owning a OG Ape is out of reach for many. Membership is not cheap!
Also, we know that the world doesn’t need the 20,000th NFT PFP project. So we want to do it differently, starting with the art itself and being more than just another derivative. Our design team deconstructed all property layers from the MAYC collection and subsequently reconstructed a collection ensuring each 0xMutant is unique refined. Furthermore, our designers continue the MAYC ethos and add their own style to this collection by creating many unique traits — as a result, we are creating a new generation of unique mutants.
We aim to build everything around this NFT, which will be the “Genesis” collection. Owning this NFT will give you access to most things in our roadmap. We are interested in building massive utility around this one.
We see ourselves more as a fan club of sorts, allowing those who don’t own an OG Ape to still express their fan hood.
Comics (NFT | Chapters)
One of the core features of the Apeverse will be its Comic Series. We want to create a deeply developed story which will serve as the main drive to the series’ expansion — an action-packed, serialized comic series. Chapters will be organized in Seasons, defined as specific time periods in which certain arcs are developed in the story. For example, every four weeks anyone that is holding a 0xMutant will be able to choose what will happen next in the story, that results in a Comic Chapter available for reading in our dApp.
At the end of each season, holders will receive a free airdropped edition as an NFT in their wallets. These NFTs can be burned in order to claim a physical edition of the Comic Series.
On top of that, we’ll be investing a decent portion of the proceeds from this drop into the BAYC ecosystem by buying some MAYC. While owning the commercial rights to each Mutant, we would be able to incorporate them into our comics, as well as ultimately have them become a part of the Apeverse.
Apeland (NFT | Resources)
We strive for a social RPG in which you shape the story of the Apeverse with us. It is a game where we will decide as a community how we will survive. Anyone that is holding a Apeverse NFT will be able to choose what will happen next. Everything will be dynamically affected by those decisions.
Owning a 0xMutant will give you exclusive access to a unique piece of the mysterious island. Apeland will be available in a variety of combinations, including tents, temples, underground caves and castles.
Nevertheless we would be crazy to say that we will provide you with a full-fledged and above all high-quality web3 game in the near future — in our opinion, this requires enormous resources, especially time. And we will definitely invest this time and use the proceeds of this drop to finance the development. But until then, we still want to give you as often as possible a taste of what we want to achieve: creative, high-quality and thus innovative web3 experiences.

In the future, we will also allow our users to use their NFTs to earn $SERUM (more information below). Instead of the hold to earn model where you have to pay transactions to claim tokens and to transact to use the tokens, we decided we wanted to use staking and Polygon in the back-end to transact at super cheap gas fees. For this, we will use an NFT Bridge that will allow us to utilize the Mutant on Ethereum and Polygon.
In the long-term, there will be more “NFTs” or items that you can use to increase the amount of $SERUM you get. The easiest way to illustrate this is with an analogy. If you have a character in a video game with only one skill, you can give them items to increase their skillset! The same applies with the Apeverse staking.
$SERUM (TOKEN | Power)
The natural resource of the Apeverse, which “powers on” NFTs and turns them into productive assets. $SERUM is the currency that is generated when you stake a Apeverse NFT. You will be able to use this for all kinds of different utility from claiming whitelist opportunities to being able to purchase items that can be utilized in the Apeverse.
Before we talk further about this module, we would like to state that we believe that most projects do not need a token — you definitely want to be thoughtful about the use cases and tokenomics and not just throw one out because it’s the trend. We don’t think most projects really understand the beast they are unleashing by introducing a token. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle. You can always release a token later, but you can’t release it again.
This is exactly we’re taking our time, setting it up properly, having our legal team look over it and ratify it, build our use cases for the token, and have an ecosystem ready when it launches. We’ll be ready.
Regardless of the upcoming use cases, $SERUM will be a token made to support what’s next, controlled and built on by the community. It will serve as a decentralized protocol layer for community-led initiatives that drive culture forward into the Apeverse.
Going forward, the Apeverse community will manage itself through the Apeverse DAO, the decentralized management framework that supports the future Ecosystem Fund. The DAO is to follow a proposal process to vote on how the Ecosystem Fund should be distributed to support a diverse and self-sustaining ecosystem.

With early hype, it’s hard to achieve true community growth. And for us, the early community is just as important as the early “employees”. That’s why we don’t want to artificially hype our project before launch and prefer to focus on the product rather than marketing campaigns with influencers. We believe that authenticity is key to ensuring the longevity of any web3 brand.

Equality, transparency and a community driven web3 approach…
We conducted an market analysis and came to the following conclusions — almost every project in this space starts off virtually the same, with two core elements: Community & Team
Please note that “product” and “business plan”, two core features of any traditional business, are not mentioned by us. By leaving out the two most valuable parts of a business, a founding team with a compelling idea can inspire a community to collaborate on their project and add tremendous value to it — as long as this community receives added value in return. The problem with this type of setup is that for every “BAYC” there are 10,000 failures and everyone looks the same at launch to be honest. There are only a few projects that have a clear business plan that an eager buyer could follow. We have developed a business plan that we would like to share with you in further articles that are as compact as possible. Our goal is to make you our partners, build something and benefit from it — together!
To achieve this, we believe a high degree of transparency is required. As part of our competitive analysis, we noticed that there is a lack of transparency in many projects in the NFT space. Like, where the WL spots go, what happens to the funds raised, and so on. This happens mainly because the team has full control over the funds and can decide what to do with them.
We decided from the beginning to run 0xApeverse as a web3 company. All funds raised as well as royalties will go into our community vault. The core team will be paid monthly, and after a successful launch we will work out a salary structure, which we will make available transparently. In addition, we give you a transparent insight into the development costs. As we move forward with the project, ideas will be discussed with the community and the core team. The final proposal would be then taken for a vote to the holders.
A matter of the heart…
As you all surely know, the impact of an NFT project comes from the blockchain and cryptocurrency systems used by the marketplaces where NFTs are traded. And like most emerging technologies, they are not very efficient in all dimensions (yet).
Our game is about apes living on an island with incredible vegetation and fauna. To ensure that this remains the same in the real world, we need to talk about sustainability and thus environmental protection:
The clock is ticking. We need to find solutions now that will help our planet. So it is up to us now to speak up and not ignore the climate crisis — we all have a responsibility. As a team, we all agree that we have a duty to take care to make this project as environmentally friendly as possible.
Therefore, we strive to cooperate with projects like Moss from the beginning. A Brazilian startup that uses technology to offset carbon emissions on the blockchain, in order to offset the carbon footprint of our minting process.
Also, we want to make a long-term contribution and therefore we are joining an NGO: 1% for the Planet represents a global network of businesses, individuals and nonprofit organizations tackling our planet’s most pressing environmental issues. As a member of this NGO, we commit to giving away one percent of our annual revenues. In addition, we want to put one percent of all royalties into a separate sustainability fund and let you the community decide how we can use it to help the planet.

We will be adding more to this article in the future as we see fit, and things are subject to change. As we prepare to release each “module,” we will release a separate article that’s more detailed about that one aspect so the information can be fresh and it can be expanded on right before launch.
We are not trying to just launch another PFP collection. We are building an entertainment-focused, Web3-native startup. Beyond that, the fact that we are a studio allows us to provide value to our holders through our whole ecosystem. Our vision for 0xApeverse is the creation of a web3 brand, to expand its universe to comic series, brand collabs, merch, animated series, games and physical products.
